Who told that audio conferencing services are only for business people? I can tell you of a family which got benefited a lot by using audio conferencing services. I grew up in a small village near to Bangalore. Ours is a big family and my father is a farmer. Like my brothers, and sisters, I went away to college and never moved back home. Now we’re scattered all over the country and world. We all keep in touch, though, mostly by e-mail. Sometimes we have e-mail conversations that last for weeks on a particularly hot topic such as should my dad were in need of some money for buying a new hay baler to replace the old one that always keeps breaking down.

So to keep in touch with them we used to contact them by means of the mails or by phone. Two years ago, we had a health-related crisis in my family that lasted for several months. Everything is fine now, but at the time, we had a lot of issues to discuss, decisions to make, and emotional support to provide. E-mail was indispensable for this, but there were times when we all just needed to be able to talk together.

At that time my family friend suggested me to use conferencing service for communicating. But I had a doubt regarding that as my father is not so educated like us and we were in doubt will he able to adjust to that. That too as he is a farmer he cannot carry the set every time to where ever he goes.
